Dentures

What are Dentures?

Dentures are removable replacement teeth. There are two types of full dentures, conventional and immediate. With conventional full dentures, before the placement of the dentures, the tissue is given time to heal after teeth removal. You will be without teeth for a few months with this option. Immediate full dentures are what they sound like – immediately placed in the mouth after the teeth removal procedure. This allows you to not be without teeth, but does require resetting visits as your mouth heals and the jawbone reshapes. Similar to a dental bridge, partial dentures are also an option.

Dentures are a big step and take time to get used to. Eating and talking naturally come with time. We are happy to be here to help our patients adjust to life with dentures. Dentures are not real teeth but should be cared for in the same manner as your natural teeth with regular brushing and flossing.
